Story City - Follinglo Podcast - 50th Anniversary of National Guard Jet Crash

Fifty years ago today, Dec, 9, 1968, an Iowa Air National Guard jet crashed into Peter Tjernagel's farm about 2 miles northeast of Story City. Peter's granddaughter, Jenn Hanson-dePaula and her husband, Marcus dePaula, are producing a podcast "to more clearly tell the story of what happened and to share it with a new generation." Jenn is the daughter of Sigrid Tjernagel Hanson, who was 15 at the time of the jet crash. Jenn and Marcus will be joining us for our Spring Dinner in March to talk about producing the podcast.

Jenn's mom, aunt, uncle, and other family members, as well as neighbors who were there, were interviewed for the podcast. They also have written accounts from Jenn's grandmother and Governor Ray that will be read.  New episodes will be released every other week.
