Slater - New Exhibit "What They Wore" Starts December 2

A new exhibit, “What They Wore”, antique clothing from our collection, will be on display from December 2 through February. Continuing on display is “Farm Country”, paintings by Louise O’Donnell. Hours during the holiday season are our normal Thursdays from 10-2, and in addition we will be open Sundays 1-4. We will also be open on New Years Day.

Gilbert Christmas Open House December 1

The Christmas Open House at the Gilbert Historical Society Museum is Dec. 1st, decorating the tree the old fashion way plus stories will be read, and treats will be shared. The time has yet to be set. If you have pictures of your Christmases long ago bring to the museum so we can hang them in the Christmas parlor.  Also needed...Old fashion Christmas decorations to loan to the Museum for it's Old Fashion Christmas display.

Update:  Old Fashion Christmas open house....Saturday, December 1st, 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Children's activities from 3:00 to 5:00. Santa will be at the fire station at 5:30. Come Join Us!!! 

Story City Bartlett House on Tour of Homes - December 1 and 2


Thanks to our wonderful group of volunteers who helped decorate the Bartlett this week. The house looks fantastic! Don't forget to stop by the Bartlett House on December 1st and 2nd (Saturday & Sunday 1:00pm - 4:00pm) during the Tour of Homes. We will have complimentary refreshments!  Peanut brittle and other holiday gift items will also be available for purchase.
