Slater Display "Faces of the Civil War"
The Slater Area Historical Association’s current display, “Faces of the Civil War”, tells the story of our nation, our state, and Story County in words and pictures from those who experienced the terrible conflict that caused over 600,000 casualties. The life of a soldier and life back home are part of the exhibit as well as stories of battles from Iowans that fought for the Union. The educational display is available to view by appointment, call 515-480-9789 or 515-228-3293, or regular hours, Thursdays 10-2, at Heritage Hall, 318 First Avenue, Slater.
