Many Ames residents
remember Abe Mezvinsky and his three Ames
Fruit & Grocery Stores. A program
tracing his life from his arrival in Ames in
1934 to his retirement in 1980 will take
place on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Reiman
Gardens. The focus will be on Abe as a
businessman and benefactor and on life for
one of Ames' very few orthodox Jewish
families. If you
have recollections of Abe that you would
