Story City Kaffe With Your Valentine - February 14, 2016
Join us on February 14th for a sampling of coffees and desserts at the Fairview Lodge from 1:00 p.m - to 3:00 p.m.
You will have the chance to sample 5 flavors of coffee from KaffeGeita.
Plus a variety of mini desserts will be served, all made by local
bakers. Along with the great coffee and desserts, entertainment will be
provided by artist Kaitlin Romsey from Romsey Art and Gifts. She will
have a variety of her artwork on display as well as a watercolor project
to try. Kaitlin's artwork will be available for sale. Plus, live music
from local musician Pat Hashman!
Tickets are $12.00 per person or $20.00 for a pair. Tickets are available online at storycityhistory.org or at the Carriage House Museum, GCC Office, or at KaffeGeita. Proceeds benefit the Story City Historical Society.

Slater "Dear Santa" Exhibit Opening Reception November 29, 2015
The Slater Area Historical Association is preparing a new exhibit for the holidays. Dear Santa, featuring "Letters to Santa" from the Slater News, will have an opening reception Sunday, November 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. It will have a special holiday boutique from Floral Touch of Des Moines.

Slater Area Historical Association Has Extended Their Hours for Tools of the Trade Exhibit
The Slater Area Historical Association announces new open hours during their popular "Tools of the Trade" Exhibit. In addition to their Thursday hours from 10-2, the Heritage Hall Museum, 318 First Avenue in Slater, will be open on Saturday mornings from 9-12 and on Sunday afternoons from 1-4 during the month of October. Now it's more convenient to visit this interesting exhibit and to view the other historical exhibits on display including the "Wall of Heroes" in the Museum's military room. Slater Exhibit "Tools of the Trade" Opens September 10th, 2015
The Slater Area Historical Association has an Opening Reception September 10th for their new exhibit Tools of the Trade. Featuring a special collection of unique tools from the late 19th and
early 20th centuries, the exhibit's opening reception is Thursday, September 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Hall Museum, 318 First Avenue in Slater. All are welcome.
