Story City Historical Society Has a New Website

Ames Historical Society Hoggatt School Event - August 25, 2013

This Sunday is the last Hoggatt School event of the season! Come listen to Pam Riney-Kehrberg present, Connections: The Homestead Act to Pioneer Life.

Story City Ice Cream Social and Summer Games - August 18, 2013

Stop by the Sheldall Schoolhouse Museum for the Story City Historical Society's summer ice cream social and outdoor games. Homemade ice cream will be available for a free-will donation. Plenty of outdoor games will be played on the lawn next to the schoolhouse, including croquet, kubb, and more.  If you’ve never played kubb, stop by on Sunday and learn about this Scandinavian wooden block game, fun for all ages.  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the afternoon with us!
